After a grueling application, qualification, and competitive review process, we are thrilled that our proposal on “Balancing River Health and Hydropower Requirements in the Lancang River Basin,” was accepted out of 104 applicants by the WLE Mekong. Ecofish will provide expert direction on how to maintain river health while balancing ecological integrity, sustainable economic growth and social values with respect to the impacts of hydropower projects. We are excited to begin this multi-year project in collaboration with the Asian International Rivers Center, Yunnan University, the Faculty of Agriculture, and the National University of Laos. We congratulate the project lead Dr. Xuezhong Yu, for his devotion to sustainable hydro development and his successful direction of this winning bid.
