Ecofish Supports Kus-Kus-Sum Fundraiser in the Comox Valley

Last weekend, Ecofish teams participated in the Kus-Kus-Sum trivia night fundraiser hosted at the K’ómoks Band Hall by Project Watershed, the K’ómoks First Nation and the Cumberland Community Forest Society. Ecofish supported the event by purchasing a table and the Ecofish team pictured here won! Congrats to the Fighting Fish!

Funds raised from the event will support Project Watershed, the K’ómoks First Nation, and the community, in their mission to purchase and restore a decommissioned saw mill site located in the K’ómoks estuary, in the K’ómoks FN traditional territory. The restored site will provide fish and wildlife habitat, mitigate flooding issues, sequester carbon and provide recreational and educational opportunities and other ecosystem services for the community.
