Rider Petch is a Senior Environmental Monitor for Ecofish Research Ltd. Prior to joining Ecofish Research Ltd., Rider was Field Operations Manager at EcoDynamic Solutions (EDS) Inc. In this role, he coordinated the EDS field programs and provided quality control oversight on the delivery of construction environmental management services provided by the field teams. He was a Project Manager on a variety of environmental management and monitoring projects. In his career, he has focused on elevating the profile and profession of independent environmental monitoring in resource development projects. Rider has a keen interest in sustainable development and renewable energy, and has worked extensively in the small and large hydroelectric sector. Rider has extensive experience in construction environmental management and an in-depth knowledge of Provincial and Federal environmental requirements governing the practice. Rider is well-versed in managing environmental and social issues at the site level, and focuses on building positive relationships on all Project sites. He has a solid background in the assessment and protection of fish and aquatic habitat. His diverse experience includes fisheries assessments for mining, pipeline, hydroelectric and other linear development projects, riparian vegetation assessments, construction phase monitoring, site reclamation planning, and inspections of EA certified projects to assure compliance with certificate conditions. Rider also has extensive experience in construction design review for the development of environmental management and protection plans, and construction impact mitigation strategies. Overall, his broad experience in the public and private sector has enabled him to become an expert in environmental compliance management.
